Adding a server icon to your Minecraft server is a simple yet effective way to enhance its appearance and make it more recognizable to players. A server icon is a small image that appears next to the server name in the server list and can be customized to represent the theme, brand, or style of your server. Having a unique server icon can help your server stand out among the countless others in the Minecraft community and attract more players to join.
📏 Requirements
The server icon must meet the following criteria:
Dimensions: 64x64 pixels.
File Format: PNG.
🛠️ How to Add a Server Icon to Your Minecraft Server
Prepare the Server Icon Image:
Create or choose the image you want to use as your server icon.
Rename the Image:
Rename the image file to server-icon.png.
Note: If file extensions are disabled on your computer, simply rename it to server-icon.
Minimize the File:
Keep the file handy for later steps in this tutorial.
Log in to the PixelHost Panel:
Access your server's panel, whether you are using PixelHost Premium or Budget.
Stop the Server:
Navigate to your server's control panel and stop the server to ensure changes can be made safely.
Upload the Icon:
Go to the "File Manager" tab on the left side of the panel.
Upload the server-icon.png file you prepared earlier.
Start the Server:
After the upload is complete, start your server again.
📏 How to Resize a Server Icon for a Minecraft Server
If your icon isn’t already 64x64 pixels, follow these steps to resize it:
Open the Icon in Paint:
Right-click on your image file and open it in Paint.
Resize the Image:
In the "Home" tab, select "Resize."
Choose the option "Pixels."
Enter 64 in both the Horizontal and Vertical fields.
Note: If the pixel dimensions do not match, uncheck "Maintain aspect ratio." Be aware that this might stretch the image. You may need to crop the edges to achieve the desired result.
Save the Image:
Go to the "File" tab and select "Save as > PNG picture."
Name the file server-icon and click "Save."
