When you own a Rust server, customizing it is often important for both players and owners alike. Whether it’s to make your server stand out in a list or just to add some personality to the server information screen, one of the many customizations is changing the server name. With this, you can set your server name to be descriptive, memorable, or just something fun for you and your friends.

Changing the Rust server name might be confusing for players unfamiliar with the process, so we’ve created this guide from PixelHost to walk you through the setup.

🖥️ Changing the Server Name via the Main Panel:

  1. Access the Server Panel: Go to your PixelHost Server Panel and stop the server.

  2. Locate the Server Name Field: Scroll down and find the "server name" field.

  3. Enter Your Desired Server Name: Type in the server name you want.

  4. Save the Changes: Scroll down and click the "Save" button.

  5. Restart the Server: Restart the server to apply the changes.

After completing these steps, your server should display the chosen name in the server browser!

🚩 Common Issues:

  • Server Name Reverts to Previous Value: If the server name keeps reverting to the old value in the panel, it often means the name didn’t save correctly. After setting the name in the main panel page, ensure you click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page to apply the changes. If issues persist, go to the Customizations tab and verify that the name is updated correctly there.

  • Server Name Doesn’t Change In-Game: There are various reasons why the server name might not change in-game. First, ensure that you restart the server after saving the changes for them to take effect. If the name still doesn’t change after restarting the server, try restarting your game client and check again. This will clear the game’s server cache and should reflect the changes made.
