One of the perks of owning a Minecraft server is the ability to enable offline mode. This allows players with unofficial copies of Minecraft to join the server, but it also means losing access to whitelists and player skins. While the default Steve skin is iconic, seeing countless Steves running around for hours can get a little monotonous. The SkinsRestorer plugin was created to solve this problem. By installing this plugin on your server, you and your players can restore your normal skins or use any other skin you find and want to try out. Here's how to install and use SkinsRestorer on your PixelHost server.

📥 Downloading the Plugin:

  1. Go to the SkinsRestorer page on Spigot.

  2. Click the blue Download button in the upper right corner.

  3. Save the file in a secure location for later use.

  4. Once completed, you’re ready to add the .jar files to your Minecraft server.

🛠️ Installing on the Server:

  1. Access your PixelHost Server Panel and stop the server.

  2. Scroll down to the Game Files section and note the server version.

  3. Ensure the version is plugin-compatible, such as PaperMC or Spigot.

  4. Next, enter FTP File Access in the left-hand menu and log in.

  5. Find or create the plugins folder and enter it.

  6. Click Upload in the top left menu and then drag and drop the .jar file.

  7. Once it reaches 100%, return to the main panel page and restart the server.

🎮 Changing Skins with the Plugin

Using the plugin is quite simple. There are only a handful of commands to change your skin, along with a helpful graphical interface that shows all the different skins used on the server since the plugin was installed. Here’s a full list of commands with examples of how to use them:

✅ Conclusion:

The ability to instantly change your skin is a very handy tool for any server. This is great for players who don’t have an official copy of the game. Your players can use a custom skin instead of the default Steve we all know and love. They can also change at any time without needing to leave the server. If they see a skin they like online or create one while playing on the server, they can switch to it easily with just a few quick commands. With the help of this guide and the SkinsRestorer plugin, you’re all set to offer more customization options on your server.
