Quick Guide: How to Upload a Prebuilt Server to PixelHost 📜

Hello! If you’ve ever wanted to upload a prebuilt server to your control panel without the hassle of installing plugins/mods or configuring it manually, you’re in the right place! Today, we’ll show you how to do it quickly and easily.

📥 Download Your Prebuilt Server

The first step is to ensure that you have a prebuilt server downloaded on your computer. This server should be in a compressed file.

🗂️ Access Your Control Panel

  1. Log in to your control panel, then navigate to the "Files" section.

  2. Once inside "Files," delete your old server (if there are any files installed in this section).

Your "Files" section should now be empty.

📤 Upload the Server Files

To upload the prebuilt server to the control panel, we’ll use SFTP since the server you’re uploading is likely to be a large file.

  1. Go to "Information," then click on "Start SFTP" (To do this, you’ll need to have WinSCP or FileZilla installed on your computer. For this tutorial, we’ll use WinSCP: Download Link).

  2. Once you click "Start SFTP," a window like the following will open, where you’ll log in using the same credentials as your control panel.

📁 Inside WinSCP 📂

  • Left Side: Manage the files on your computer.

  • Right Side: Access the files in your server’s panel, which should be empty because we deleted everything earlier—remember?

To upload your prebuilt server, simply drag the file to the right-side window (your panel).

Once done, a window like the following will appear (the upload time will depend on the size of the file you’re uploading).

🚀 Returning to the Panel

With the compressed file uploaded, go back to your server control panel.

  1. Go to the "Files" section.

  2. Click the three dots on your compressed file and select "Unarchive" (this may take some time depending on the file size).

🟢 Start the Server to Check if Everything Loaded Correctly

  1. Start the server.

  2. Join the server.

That’s it! Your prebuilt server is now up and running.

❗ Common Issues and Solutions ❗

🛑 The server doesn’t start

  • Common Cause: Missing or misconfigured files.

  • Solution ✔️: Check the server folder to ensure all necessary files are present, especially the server.jar file. Verify that the eula.txt file has the value eula=true.

🔄 The server shuts down unexpectedly

  • Common Cause: Lack of memory or plugin/mod conflicts.

  • Solution ✔️: Check your server’s RAM usage and consider upgrading your plan if needed. Review the logs for errors related to plugins or mods and disable them if necessary.
