Below is a step-by-step guide on how to upload your own world to a Minecraft server using SFTP:

💻 Download an FTP Client

Download and install the "WinSCP" client on your computer. This will allow you to remotely connect to your server's folder as if it were on your own computer.

🛑 Turn Off Your Server

In the "Files" section, locate the "world" folder and rename it to something else. Then, go to the control panel of your server and select "Options" from the menu. Here, you'll see the following:

🔌 Connect via SFTP

Click the "Launch SFTP" button as shown. The program you installed earlier will automatically open with your server's connection details. Keep your panel login password handy, as you'll need it when the program opens. If everything is correct, you should now be able to see your server files just as they appear in the Files section.

🗂️ Locate Your Minecraft World

Now, navigate on your own computer to the Minecraft directory, yes, the famous "%appdata%". Locate the ".minecraft" folder, then go to the "saves" folder. Select the world you want to upload to your server and compress it into a ".ZIP" file.

💡 Tip: Make sure your ZIP file only contains the world files and not the entire saves folder, as this can cause issues during the upload.

📦 Upload the Compressed File

Drag the compressed file from your computer into the server directory in "WinSCP". Depending on the size of your world and your internet speed, this could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours.

📁 Unzip and Rename the World Folder

Once the upload is complete, you can close WinSCP. Go to the "Files" section of your server's panel, and if the upload was successful, you should see your world there. Simply click on the three dots next to the world and select "Unzip". After it's unzipped, rename the world folder to "world" (all lowercase) so that the server will recognize it as the main world.

🛡️ Common Issue: If your world doesn’t load correctly, double-check the folder structure and ensure it's named "world" without any extra characters or spaces.

And that's it! Start your server, and you’ll be able to enjoy your own Minecraft world on your server.
