📌 What is Server Splitting?
Server splitting allows you to partition your main server's resources into several sub-servers. It’s like cloning your server and using it for multiple purposes! This is great if you want to host different services or games without having to set up everything from scratch each time.
(This feature is only available on semi-dedicated plans.)
🔍 How to Create a Subdivision
Locate the Server Split Tab:
Go to the sidebar in your PixelHost panel and click on the "Splits" tab.
⚠️ Before creating a subdivision, consider the available resources. ⚠️
Creating the Subdivision ➗:
Once you’ve identified how many resources are available, it’s time to create the server subdivision:
Click the "+" button. Below the button, you’ll see how many subdivisions you have created and how many you can create.
A new window will open with the following fields:
Name: Choose a name for the subdivision.
Description: Add a description for the subdivision.
CPU Limit: Set the CPU limit.
Memory Limit: Assign the memory limit.
Disk Limit: Set the disk space limit.
Swap Limit: Assign the swap limit, which acts as virtual memory when the RAM is full.
Databases: Choose the number of databases you want.
Splits: Set the number of subdivisions (if it shows 0 max, you cannot create further subdivisions).
Allocations: Define the number of allocations.
Backups: Set the number of backups allowed for the subdivision.
Software Type: Select the software type for the subdivision (e.g., Bedrock Edition, Java, Forge).
Sync Sub-users: Choose whether to sync the sub-users from the main server with the subdivision.
Once configured, create the subdivision.
⚙️ Access Your Sub-Server
Now that the subdivision is created and configured, here’s how to access it:
Go to the "Splits" section on the left side of the panel.
Enter the subdivision you just created.
Click the button indicated by the arrow.
Great! Your subdivision is ready to be used. You can access it using the indicated button.
⚙️ Things to Keep in Mind...
⚠️ Remember to check the main server’s resources before assigning them to the sub-server.
🎭 Subdivisions can only be created on semi-dedicated plans.
