Hello, Minecraft players! 🚀 Do you want your Forge world to run smoothly without lag? 🏃‍♂️ Here are some mods that can help optimize your server for a seamless gaming experience.

🌟 Which Mods to Add?

It's important not to overload your world with too many mods. Choose the ones you truly need and ensure they are compatible with each other!

FerriteCore ((Neo)Forge) 🔥

  • Link: FerriteCore on CurseForge

  • Version: 1.21.1 (Still receiving updates)

This mod reduces Minecraft's memory usage in various ways.

Should you install this on the server or just the client? Some optimizations are client-side only, but there are high-impact optimizations relevant to the server as well. Therefore, you should install it on both sides.

MemoryLeakFix 🎞️

Canary 🕊️

  • Link: Canary on CurseForge

  • Version: Up to 1.20.4

Canary is a general performance optimization mod and an unofficial fork of the Lithium mod for Minecraft Forge. It works on both the client and server and can be installed on servers without requiring clients to also have the mod.

Starlight ⭐

  • Link: Starlight on CurseForge

  • Version: Up to 1.20.2

Starlight was developed for larger dedicated servers that suffered performance issues due to the incredibly slow lighting engine.

ModernFix 🏃

  • Link: ModernFix on CurseForge

  • Version: 1.21.1 (Still receiving updates)

ModernFix is an all-in-one mod that improves performance, reduces memory usage, and fixes many bugs in modern versions of Minecraft. Most Forge modpacks from 1.16 to 1.19.2 will launch approximately twice as fast with ModernFix installed. If certain non-default options are enabled, it can even allow large modpacks like All The Mods 8 to run with 3GB or less of allocated memory.

Saturn 🪐

  • Link: Saturn on CurseForge

  • Version: 1.21.1 (Still receiving updates)

Saturn is a mod designed to optimize server performance by improving the way chunks are loaded and saved, reducing lag spikes and server load.

ServerCore 🔥

  • Link: ServerCore on CurseForge

  • Version: 1.21.1 (Still receiving updates)

A mod aimed at optimizing Minecraft servers. It works on both dedicated servers and single-player mode.

Smooth Boot (Reloaded) 😎

  • Link: Smooth Boot (Reloaded) on CurseForge

  • Version: Up to 1.20.1

Smooth Boot (Reloaded) is an optimization mod, and an unofficial fork of Smooth Boot for Minecraft Forge 1.18.2+. It reduces the CPU usage during Minecraft’s startup, making it smoother, especially on older or lower-end CPUs.

Server Performance - Smooth Chunk Save [Forge/Fabric] 💻

  • Link: Smooth Chunk Save on CurseForge

  • Version: 1.21.1 (Still receiving updates)

This mod saves chunks continuously over time, reducing server lag and preventing lag spikes caused by saving too many chunks at once.

Note: Requires Cupboard to be installed as a dependency in recent versions.

Cupboard (Dependency) 🍷

  • Link: Cupboard on CurseForge

  • Version: 1.21.1

Cupboard provides code, frameworks, and utilities for Minecraft mods, essential for some optimization mods to function.
